Jennifer Webb

I've always been a creative, critical, out-of the-box thinker. I love getting strategic. In my heart, I'm a writer. My career started at a small advertising agency as an account executive and grew to include, in addition to continuing as account exec, five years of public relations for my client, the Atlanta Home Show & Atlanta Garden & Patio Show. For both shows I wrote all press releases, articles for the Shows' programs (published in Atlanta Home Improvement Magazine). I nurtured relationships with the press and met the press at the Shows to broadcast or set up interviews. I also formed relationships with vendors and wrote about their products to be included in press kits, and I played host to celebrity guest-speakers at the Shows that included Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, Ty Pennington of Trading Spaces, and Carson Kressley of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

I had my first child in 2005 and my second in 2007, which derailed my advertising executive ambitions, but not my passion for creating and writing. While my kids were babies, I wrote my first book, Surviving Braces. Yep, the kind that go on your teeth.

In 2010, I started a blog called Mom's Soul Café about days spent with my kids and my spiritual studies, which I later turned into a book of the same title.

In 2012, took a nine-month course in Orton Gillingham, a method for teaching dyslexic kids to read and retain information easier, and started a blog on the subject, OG For All, because I believe everyone should be learning English with this method. I still post on this blog and created two workbooks and support material for digital download from the site.

I created a business designing postcards, flyers and business cards for different businesses.

As a platform for Mom's Soul Café, I began leading meditations. I took classes in sound therapy and now play the crystal bowls, played along with guided meditations, which I write. I also created (and wrote) unique content for a Way of Tea meditation, pairing a principle of mindfulness (John Kabat Zin) with a chakra (energy system of the body). 2017-2019, I regularly led meditations. I still lead occasionally when invited.

Next I took a poem I wrote for my kids when they were young and turned it into a children's book, Slant the Ant.

February to November, 2019, I worked in a contract capacity for a non-profit in my community, Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park, doing all of their social media, email communications, public relations (writing all releases and distributing to the press), and assisted with their marketing plan, creation and execution.

I'm available if you have freelance or contract writing, design or marketing needs, as  well as available for in-home and in-office meditations and tea ceremonies. Contact me today!
